AZZURRA PRESENTS, ON THE OCCASION OF MILANO DESIGN WEEK 2021, SOLODUE. THIN AS PAPER, THE NEW INSTALLATION OF THE MILAN SHOWROOM, CURATED BY DIEGO GRANDI.
The project brings together lightness and consistency of materials to redefine the lines of the bathroom environment.

The aesthetic imagery of paper, a material that reproduces the world, restoring an aerial vision of things and leaving a light and vital imprint, becomes the suggestion for the concept of the installation and is connected to the design of the new patented SoloDue® shower tray presented here for the first time.
The collection, with its linear design and minimal thickness of only 2 cm, transports the significance of paper into the ceramic material, opening up new opportunities for decoration.
The new showcase expresses this vision to the utmost, displaying SoloDue®, in its chromatic and Dimensional variations, like large origami pinwheels that recall the lightness of paper and its infinite modulation. The common point between the two materials is the wide possibility of customisation, a characteristic of the new collection of shower trays, available in twenty-two different sizes and shapeable on demand. The special shape of the product also allows for an accelerated water outflow thanks to the innovative metal drain, with its patented design, available in a coloured version to match the tray.

The tale of Azzurra’s tailoring continues at the entrance revealing some of the possibilities of cutting SoloDue® to size and the three coloured finishes: COLORS 1250°, Le malteceramiche® and the brand new Drip®, developed by Azzurra in collaboration with DGO_Diego Grandi Office. This patented surface stands out for its particular texture that simulates the drop effect of sprayed water and is available in four shades.
The area behind the showcase offers the configuration of a complete bathroom including the shower area with custom-made shower trays and the Franky collection of furnishing accessories, designed by Diego Grandi, with magnetic mirror, stool and shelf in solid wood.
The environment is completed by the Stand system by StorageAssociati, a dynamic combination of wood, iron and ceramic sanitary ware from the Comoda line. Characterized by soft, generous lines, they use the patented Water Saving system that allows a complete flush with just 3 litres of water, for annual water savings of over 70%.

On the occasion of the Milano Design Week 2021, Azzurra will also take part in the Camerino n.5 project, curated by Paolo Volpato and Caterina Steiner, at the TAM, Teatro degli Arcimboldi Milano for Vietato l’Ingresso, an unprecedented initiative involving prestigious Milanese interior design studios to give new life to the theatre’s seventeen dressing rooms. The sanitary fittings from the Charme collection, designed by
Laudani&Romanelli, were selected to furnish the bathroom area of the space, telling the story of a place steeped in history with classicism.
A new test for Azzurra, able at every step to extend the scope of its imagination, in a combination of craftsmanship, technology, aesthetics and an ever-renewed attention to the environment and water resources.
