AN EXPLORATION OF DEMOCRATIC DESIGN IN ORGANIC FORMS

The LA-based interior design brand presents its new collection of lighting and furniture, drawn from early forms of environmental design. Château explores the duality of our interior lives through the studio’s signature use of decorative and structural motifs.

Château is a collection of forms, by turns ornamental and organic; animated by the human mind, and evolved from the democratic principles of Frank Lloyd Wright’s architecture.

Atelier de Troupe founder Gabriel Abraham’s background in the film industry informs his narrative approach to the design process. The resulting suite of furnishings manifests an ethos of simplicity, warmth and authenticity that exists comfortably in dialogue with the binaries that structure contemporary life: fleeting and forever, raw and refined. Apart, each piece remains coolly cohesive yet urgently open to interpretation. New introductions include the Château chair and tables, the Cloche pendants, Bambou chandeliers, and Shell Vases.

Developed by the studio team under artistic direction of Abraham, each Atelier de Troupe piece is hand manufactured by local fabricators. This end-to-end process minimizes waste and allows for responsible sourcing and extensive customization. The entire Château collection is available to order now.

ABOUT ATELIER DE TROUPE

Atelier de Troupe is a design studio based in Los Angeles. Founded in 2011 by French former production designer Gabriel Abraham, Atelier de Troupe’s collections are bold yet referential, tempering the ascetic grammar of the Bauhaus with layered allusions to vintage Italian and French design. The brand’s furniture and lighting are comfortably minimalist, synthesizing disparate influences into one cohesive vision for modern living.

CHÂTEAU COLLECTION BY ATELIER DE TROUPE

The Château collection is a study of the modular quality of hexagonal shapes found in nature. The faceted design creates a striking profile that reveals two plush detachable cushions, or an inset tabletop. The geometric handcrafted wood base is built of light mahogany or dark walnut. The table top is available in bronze glass, or stone. Cushions available COM

CLOCHE BY ATELIER DE TROUPE

The Cloche glass pendants and sconce mimic crystalline formations found in nature. Hand-shaped brass hardware allows for single and multi-tier arrangements of the pendant’s glass shades, suspended from brass-plated airplane cables; a brass backplate supports the sconce. Available in blackened brass, or satin brass.

BAMBOU BY ATELIER DE TROUPE

The Bambou chandeliers and sconce are a play of infinite sculptural arrangements. The modular sequence of machine-blown glass tubes expands and contracts horizontally and vertically, allowing for dynamic arrangements of varying visual density. The hardware is available in satin or polished brass, polished nickel, or with mahogany detail.

SHELL VASE BY ATELIER DE TROUPE

The Shell vases are inspired by the variegated textures of helix sequencing, with shell-like ripples on the surface giving way to a smooth, satin-glazed interior. Hand-cast in porcelain, both vases are available in earthen hues and complementary heights. Also available in marble at Collection Particuliere (collection-particuliere.fr)
