SALVATORI Inaugurated during the Milan Design Week, the new Salvatori Boutique is already a must-visit destination for the Milanese design addicts. The shop’s window showcases the inspiring and timeless Home Collection and opens the doors of the Salvatori’s world.
THE VILLAGE
Salvatori’s CEO Gabriele Salvatori involved designers from different nations and backgrounds, inviting each of them to interpret their own unique vision of home through the lens of their personal memories, sentiments and cultural background.
Patricia Urquiola, Yabu Pushelberg, Rodolfo Dordoni, Kengo Kuma, John Pawson, Elisa Ossino and Vincent Van Duysen accepted the challenge and the result is The Village collection, a series of wonderful house-like sculptures.
THE HOME COLLECTION
Designed by Piero Lissoni, the Pietra L11 candle and scent diffuser holders are goriously simple vessels, designed to provide an elegant, stylish home for our frangrances.
Sculptural and contemporary, Mono is a series of single-flower vases designed by Elisa Ossino in a variety of shapes and stones.
The Pawson-designed medium and large containers of the Ellispe collection, are multi purpose pieces that blend seamlessly with the living room, kitchen, office or bathroom. Crafted from a single piece of sumptuous Bianco Carrara marble, the object’s smooth curves are attentively hand-finished in Salvatori’s Tuscan workshop.
The Pietra L06 doorstopper is composed of a monolithic, cone-like piece of marble in either vibrant red Rosso Francia or inky black Nero Marquina. Purtruding from the top is a decorative grey steel hook, which makes the object easy to move and transport.
FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS BY STEPHEN BURKS
New York-based Stephen Burks and Salvatori came together for the first time to create a series of sculptural mirrors. In keeping with the designer’s pluralistic vision that encompasses a sweeping range of cultural perspectives, together with an appreciation for the unique value of artisanal processes, the collection embraces the abundance of vibrant colours natural stones have to offer.
Both the table, called Friends, and the wall mirror, called Neighbors, are an artful combination of contemporary aesthetics and ancient tribal traditions. Vivid stones such as Giallo Siena, Rosso Francia and Verde Guatemala sit alongside more subdued classics such as Bianco Carrara, Silk Georgette® and Nero Marquina in a fascinating and eclectic array of multi-coloured mirrors.
